"Latigue is from San Jose, Calif. and is majoring in history and political thought with a minor in English.
'My dream job is to become a lawyer. I chose the major of history and political thought with a minor in English because law schools show an interest in students with diverse areas of study, also political theory has always interested me.'
The San Jose native's favorite professional teams are the U.S. women’s soccer team and the Golden State Warriors while her favorite athletes are Steph Curry and Serena Williams.
'My favorite sport besides volleyball would be soccer because I used to play it since I was four years old up until high school. Also, my family and I take the FIFA World Cup very seriously every time it comes around.'
Her favorite quote is 'Everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about. Be kind. Always.' Latigue added her best advice is 'Believe in yourself and work hard and anything you set your mind to will be successful.'
During her freshman year in 2018, Latigue was able to play against her older sister who went to Dominican University. She was named Academic All-PacWest in 2018 along with seven other teammates.
Entering her junior year she has dished out a total 1,207 assists and 403 digs.
The Newport Rib Company Eagle of the Week started in all 30 matches in 2019 and finished with 785 assists with an average of 6.71 assists per set, 234 total digs, and 12 blocks. She led the team with 32 aces on the season while tying her career-high of four aces on September 21 at Holy Names. Latigue was able to rack up a career-high of 46 assists on October 26 in a four-set battle against Notre Dame de Namur.
'My mindset is to not take it for granted and to have fun, as my volleyball career will come to an end after college. Also as crazy as the times are these days with COVID-19, some college athletes won’t get the chance to play this season, so I’ll cherish the opportunity to be able to play.'
